This stamp sheet from Western Samoa is a true gem for collectors. The stamp sheet features a colorful and bright vignette calling attention to the friendly relations between New Zealand and Samoa and the signing of the treaty of friendship in August 1962.

Postal authorities had little time to produce a high quality stamp sheet which resulted in their decision to produce a quantity between 80,000 and 90,000 which was immediately sold out on the First Day of Issue. Their alternative was a large quantity of low quality stamp sheets.

Another reason for the low quantity was a decision to only perforate around the stamp which apparently was done by hand.

The New Zealand post office gave permission for their historic one-shilling postage stamp to be recreated in the lower right corner of the sheet as a commemoration of the 125th anniversary of their postage stamps.

The stamps are in an XF (Extremely Fine) grade, ensuring their high quality. Additionally, they come with certification from the International Postal Collectors League, giving them a stamp of approval. This is a must-have for any specialty philately collector.
