Here is a boxed set of die-cast metal, historically accurate model airplanes. These are four, referred to as "Pioneering Years", from the "100 Years of Flight" set of twenty. Included are:
- Wright Brothers First Airplane - Dated December 17, 1903, the "Wright Flyer" lifts into the air piloted by Orville Wright while his brother Wilbur looks on. The flight lasted only 12 seconds and yet covered a distance of 121 feet. It is the first powered, heavier-than-air flight. (#1/20)
- Blériot's Airplane When He Crossed the English Channel - Dated July 25, 1909, Louis Blériot became the first person to make a heavier-than-air crossing of the English Channel. (#2/20)
- Lindbergh's "Spirit of St. Louis" - Dated May 1927, Charles Lindbergh made the first solo Transatlantic Crossing in his Ryan Monoplane called the "Spirit of St. Louis". (#5/20)
- Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Vega 5B - Dated May 1932, Amelia Earhart made the first female solo Transatlantic Crossing in a Lockheed Vega 5B. (#6/20)
