This vintage Mexican sculpture depicts the iconic road runner bird. Made of a large bull horn it showcases the Mexican culture and reverence for animals.

The road runner is a magnificent bird almost prehistoric in its stature. Very rare to see but when you do you feel very special to see it.

In some parts of Mexico and Native America the family of a dead person will paint road runner track around the family home to detract evil spirits from claiming the deceased.

A road runner is never killed except a shaman may use the meat for medicine.

The piece was carefully crafted by hand in Mexico in the 1940s, making it a true collectible item with history.

9” x 10”. 6 oz.

Please note the sculpture is over 70 years old and delicate though in good condition.
