This exquisite miniature wooden set depicts a charming handcrafted bride and groom in their wedding attire, presented in their original box. The detailed wooden figures are painted in classic black and white and feature delicate accents that are sure to captivate collectors of decorative collectibles. The bride has a lace veil and a bouquet.  The set was made in East Germany during the mid 20th century, specifically between 1950-1959, by skilled craftsmen in the Erzgebirge style. The box features a collection number.  The figures weigh approximately 3 ounces and measure small in size. The arms on both are movable.  The groom is dressed in a black tuxedo with a red boutonniere flower.  The bride is dressed in a white dress with a veil and a red bouquet.  Both have sweet simple round painted faces with black eyes, rosy cheeks and pink round lips.  They are simple and sweet figurines meant as wedding cake toppers.  This timeless piece would make a perfect addition to any wedding or German collector.

This set was given to me by a dear friend in 1997.  She purchased them on a trip to Germany after WWII during the cold war before the Berlin Wall came down.

I have kept them stored in the original box and in a sealed container away from light, humidity and heat.
It is time for someone to enjoy these in their collection.  They should be enjoyed and not stored away in a box..

I have some other pieces she gave me in my store such as German Snowbabies and a Pfeffer Porzellan kissing children.  All made during the 1920s to 1960s period.

Thanks for shopping.
