Comment

This is a brooch by Wiwen Nilsson, a representative Swedish silversmith of the 20th century and a jeweler under royal warrant.

Wiwen Nilsson created his works using nuanced silver with geometric designs and a daringly matte finish.

Born in 1897 in Copenhagen, Sweden to silversmith Anders Nilsson, Nilsson apprenticed himself to his father at an early age, creating jewelry, silverware, and sculpture, and after a highly successful debut at the Gothenburg Exhibition in 1923, he went on to hold exhibitions at the Raceka Museum and the National Museum of Denmark.

Today Nilsson's work can be seen at the National Art Museum in Sweden.

This silver brooch with a worn antique texture is shaped like a combination of what appears to be a deformed alphabet (probably A and L).

The color and shape of this brooch are not gender-specific and can be used by anyone in a unisex manner.

This brooch can be used in a variety of ways, such as as an accent for everyday clothing or formal wear, as a clasp for a scarf or scarf, or as a point of attachment for your bag.

Condition.

There are some minor line scratches, dulling, and stains inside the box. There is no damage that would cause any problems in use, and the brooch is in good condition to be used in the future.
