The novel "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" (1884), conceived by the great American writer and journalist Mark Twain (1835-1910) as a sequel to "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer", tells about the fascinating journey of Huck Finn on a raft on the Mississippi River. The difficult situation in which the protagonist and the fugitive Negro Jim find themselves is resolved through a chain of incredible events and coincidences and, of course, not without the participation of a desperate inventor and fantasist Tom Sawyer. The novel is recognized as M. Twain's most significant contribution to American and world literature. The edition is accompanied by necessary comments by the outstanding literary critic A. M. Zverev. Illustrations by the famous St. Petersburg artist Vasily Golubev were prepared especially for this edition and are published for the first time.
