Film che affronta il tema del recupero psicologico di bambini che hanno subito un trauma. E lo fa con una storia di fantasia, la storia drammatica di un giovane pilota dell'aeronautica militare che, in volo sperimentale con un suo superiore, vede d'un tratto l'aereo perdere quota senza poter evitare che esso si schianti su una scuola elementare ferendo molti bambini. Scosso dall'incidente, il giovane lascia l'aeronautica, si laurea in psicologia e, divenuto insegnante di sostegno, si fa assegnare proprio alla scuola che aveva semidistrutto, mantenendo segreta la propria vera identità.
