Nemuri Neko are sleeping cats figured after the famous craftsman, Hidari Jingoro.

Later ceramic cats based on the original wood sculptures were produced in Kutani Japan.

This large Nemuri Neko was created in Japan by slip porcelain mold then hand painted for designer Frederic Cooper with traditional kimono motifs of Yuzen zome with gold and color.

Excellent condition.
