Toning to endpapers, contemporary ownership inscription to preliminaries, and interior otherwise unmarked. A Very Good copy of this scarce history of Paris, New York, which begins by describing the experience of the town's first non-native settler, an enslaved man who ran away from his enslaver and attempted to possess a patch of land through "Squatter Sovereignty."
