Add a touch of elegance to your dining table with this vintage floral embroidered organza tablecloth that was purchased in India in about 1985. Measuring 52 inches in width and 86 inches in length, this delicate tablecloth is perfect for all occasions. The intricate flower pattern in multi-colors is handcrafted in India and features beautiful shadow work embroidery called Chikankari, making it a unique and exquisite piece. In shadow work, the embroidery is worked on the reverse of the fabric which gives a shodowy or opaque effect on the right side of the fabric. The designs are highlighted by small stitches on the right side. You can see both sides of the work in the photo. Made from organza material, this tablecloth is beautiful as it is or layered atop a linen table cloth (see the last photo). Its rectangular shape is perfect for any table size and the embroidered features add a charming touch to your dining area. On my 40"W table the seams run along the side with a lovely 6" edge hanging down. 12 napkins that are 13" squares. 3 of these have faint yellow stains.
