LP The Story of Christmas Rita Ford's Music Boxes Columbia 1968

Rita Ford's Music Boxes is located in New York City's Upper East Side. Per the Interwebs, they released at last two Christmas Albums of Music Boxes. THIS is one of them!

I can't think of anything more glorious and kitschy! Album has been well played, it was clearly loved! This is a thoughtful and beautiful musical journey from Christ's Birth through Resurrection. This album was so carefully curated!! What a great find!

Album is in expected shape for its age. Normal wear for its age. Visible light marks and scuffs. One mark is concerning, but I cannot feel it, so I would say it presents as minor.  Album needs a good cleaning, by a method of your choice.

Cover shows wear that is expected for its age. Slight ring wear. Colors are good! Inner sleeve is not present.

Rita Ford Music Boxes

Every so often I’ll run into a specialized store that will amaze me with its ability to be in business with a very narrow range of product. I was recently wandering in the Upper East Side and ran into a rare one. Rita Ford’s Music Boxes.  Located on 65th Street near Fifth Avenue which makes it an absolutely first rate location. All they sell is music boxes.  Really nice ones, too. To be honest, I’ve never really given much thought to music boxes. The gentleman running the store mentioned that they have been in business for around 50 years and are a leader in the field.  He showed me some of the workings of the music boxes and how there are various levels of sophistication to the sound.  I always think of them as having a limited repertoire of notes, but some of them sounded pretty good. The shop also has some big ones and obviously antique versions. Don’t expect to come in here and pay $9.99 on a music box.  They may have some, but I sure didn’t see them!

Perfect for display or to listen and enjoy!! Great Gift!! Good as Collector's Item. Replace or Add to an Existing Record Collection. Christmas!
