Up for sale is a UNUSUAL Pilgram brand hand-blown glass paper weight with a well executed frosted amber glass spiral inside. MCM c.1950s-60s

If you notice most swirled or spiraled paperweights are not carefully created or the swirl is on the outer layer of the glass. This piece has a well executed spiral on a 2nd layer giving almost a hypnotic effect.  This piece is very clear with minimal bubbling.  It also holds 3rd interior layer that looks like a giant torpedo-like bubble.  Egg shaped.  Magnificient.

3" high x 2-1/2" across (base is 1-5/8")  OR  7.6cm x 6.35cm (base 4.13cm)
  
There's no doubt about it - paperweights are beautiful compact pieces of art and are incredibly diverse in style, colors and features.  This one is no exception.  It is an unusual piece you will not easily find anywhere else. 

This is a super slick piece that would look stunning on a work desk or destined to join any fabulous collection of glass paper weights!  Possibly designed under the influence of the talented brothers, Alessandro and Roberto Moretti, who emigrated from Italy and was hired at the Pilgrim Glass Co. in the mid-1950s.  The label suggests possibly 1960s.
