A beautiful large English Worcester FB&B oval scalloped edge serving platter.

Hand painted in very vibrant dry blue enamel with floral and berry gold gilt accented sprigs.


John Sandon mentioned in the "Dictionary Of Worcester Porcelain"

that blue enamel was a very difficult color to control when used as overglaze.

Worcester overcame the problem by developing a very vibrant bright blue.


This rare large platter is marked backside with the impressed crown, FB&B and  #18 ( which is the platters size), dating from 1800- 1810.


Will ship without back hanger.


The condition is excellent.

There are no chips, lines, repairs or crazing.

The gilt border and decoration showing little to no wear.

Very minor surface scratches.


The platter measures 18.25" wide, 15" deep and 2" high.
