Well, this is certainly an interesting curiosity! It appears to be a work after a known Faberge design. I will include a photo of the original it appears to be modeled after. I think the materials are onyx and possibly agate (or rose quartz?). Not sure. There is a charm to this little vulture. I could not find information on this but did see one very similar that was auctioned off at a charity auction for a nature conservancy a few years back. I don't know what the story is here. If Faberge artisans do prototypes in less expensive materials before creating their masterpieces, then I am probably going to cry for selling this at a ridiculous price. But the other angle could be true...that this is a tribute piece done in more affordable materials and with stylistic changes. Either way, the little guy is super charming...scavenging ways or not. A perfect addition to your Cabinet of Curiosities.
