Here is a beautiful larger(relative large for the species, although larger have been found in this region in the past..) Titanite crystal, from the Boulder Batholith granite area, about 14 miles east of Butte, MT. Here, miarolitic cavities contain smoky Quartz and Feldspar, but, luckily for the mineral collector , often contain other minerals as well. Mostly these pockets contain Epidote and Allanite, Titanite, black tourmaline and sometimes Axinite, or even Danburite and Topaz, Beryl, but these are relatively rare. It depends how close to the edge/intrusion border of the Granite and granodiorite you are, different elements will have changed the pocket contents... Anyhow, various colors and Habits of Titanite have been found, but mostly show up in the here presented habit, with flattened, brown/orange crystals. This crystal is virtually a floater. This crystal is 3 grams in weight, and size is 1 inch x 0.6 inch x 0.2 inch  in size. Please be advised, i ship with ground advantage.
