The creation of Phra Kring began in Tibet and China. Therefore it is called Phra Kring Tibet and Phra Kring Nong Sae. Later, it was popularly made in Cambodia, called Phra Kring Ubakeng. or Phra Kring Phnom Bakeng and Phra Kring Phra Pathum Suriyawong It was found that the Khmers had widely built Phra Kring Pathum in every era during the reign of King Jayavarman VII to dedicate it to Buddha Bhaisajyakuru.
