This RadioShack CTR-101 tape recorder/player has been tested with 4 AA batteries and is in working condition. We were able to play a music cassette and the sound quality was very good. We do not have a blank cassette tape to test the recording capability. Battery compartment is clean (batteries/power adapter are NOT included). Good condition. Exterior has some scratches, scuffs, imperfections from normal use and aging.
