Considering the specifics of the system’s operation, it can be used both for peaceful purposes - to protect a certain territory, the perimeter of a house, to control a personal plot, and for military purposes - as an early warning system for the approach of the enemy and determining the “direction of attack.” Don’t forget about its use in hunting; with such a system, you can fence off an area with sensors and, based on their response, quickly understand which side the animal is coming from and move forward to meet it, without wasting time searching for and corralling the animal.
The system consists of 1 receiver and 5 motion sensors. The receiver has a rectangular body, the size of a pack of cigarettes and is made of durable plastic. On the front panel there are 5 green indicators (triggered by a specific sensor) and a speaker. On the sides there is a volume control for the alarm, a red indicator (power on), a headphone jack (not included), a retractable telescopic antenna 14 cm long, a hole for fixing the cord for carrying and a power switch, on the back there is a clip for fixing it on belt or clothing.
Each of the system's 5 sensors is a wireless infrared (PIR) motion sensor. The shape of the sensor body is rectangular with a rounding at the top. The sensor body is made of durable plastic and has a protection class of IP 66. The detection zone of the PIR sensor is 8 – 15 m and depends on the size and temperature of the animal/human integument. The sensor has a very high quality of manufacture, is painted in the form of a protective camouflage in the “forest” style, the lenses of the PIR sensors are black (not white as usual!), which greatly improves the invisibility of the sensor, as well as complete protection from heavy rain.
Each sensor is equipped with a special mounting leg, which can be rotated vertically 180 degrees, in 30-degree increments, as it has a “ratchet” fixation mechanism. The power button is covered with soft silicone, the antenna is also soft, which prevents it from breaking if the sensor is accidentally dropped. Both types of devices included in the kit are powered by 3 mini AAA batteries, which last for a long time (when installing high-quality alkaline cells). They can always be quickly replaced without leaving the sensor, and without waiting for the batteries to charge.
Data transmission from the transmitter to the receiver is carried out wirelessly, via a radio channel at a frequency of 433 MHz. Using this frequency is very convenient, since if there is a need to expand the transmission radius of sensors, then you can use repeaters at 433 MHz, which are also on sale in our store, for example from RETEKESS. The signal transmission range is up to 300 meters, respectively, with 2 sensors, it is possible to “close” a section 600 meters long, provided that the receiver is located centrally between them. The transmission range is indicated under the condition of direct visibility and strongly depends on the number of obstacles on the way, the more there are, the lower the maximum transmission range, but the higher the transmitter or receiver is from the ground, the greater the range.
When the motion sensor is triggered, the corresponding green indicator on the receiver begins to blink, the vibration motor operates and a beeping signal is heard, the volume of which can be adjusted with a regulator, up to complete shutdown. For noisy environments, you can connect headphones to hear the signal. The received signal flashes for 15 seconds indicating that it was triggered recently, and then the LED lights up continuously to make it clear that someone has already been in this area and the sensor has triggered.
If the next zone is triggered, the process is repeated with the next indicator, while the previous indicator does not go out, from which we can draw a conclusion about the direction of movement. If all the sensors are triggered and there is no more movement, then all the green indicators will light up (without sound / vibration), but as soon as the movement is repeated, the blinking of the desired LED will repeat with vibration and sound (if it is turned on). If you need to “extinguish” triggered zones, you just need to turn off and turn on the receiver again, then it will return to its original state.
The receiver has a microcontroller and a special power saving function and turns on the built-in radio module for a short time a couple of times per second, rather than constantly, which can significantly reduce power consumption. For long-term and trouble-free operation of the system, it is recommended to use alkaline batteries rather than cheap salt ones. Using high-quality batteries will not only increase the operating time and reliability of the system, but will protect the internal electronics from leaking batteries and device failure.
