The idea behind a wish bracelet (cord) is that you make a wish, and tie it to your wrist. Eventually, the cord wears off and the bracelet will break (which sounds sad). When this happens your wish is then “released” and is supposed to come true.
The cotton cord is approximately 30 cm in length and tied with sliding knots so it should fit all wrists.
