    1: Let the engine cool before attempting to remove a sensorStep 
    2: Jack up the vehicle if you need to reach a sensor under itStep 
    3: Locate the oxygen sensor underneath the hood or vehicleStep 
    4: Disconnect the electrical connection to the oxygen sensorStep 
    5: Spray some penetrating oil onto the sensor to loosen itStep 
    6: Unscrew the oxygen sensor using a ratchet wrenchStep
