Up for Auction is a charming hand-colored engraved print attributed to the British artist, George Wright (1860-1944). The picture is framed.

The charming picture is an 19th century winter scene with houses and various people surrounding a stage coach being pulled by horses along with a running dog...

This is clearly an old hand-colored print with vibrant colors, but I am not an expert to determine which engraving method was employed.  I have seen both hand-colored "lithograph" and "etching" in relation to his prints, as well as "engraving."  The hand coloring is clearly visible through the glass. His signature is present.

This is a delightful, stunning vintage framed work of art. The quaint old-time winter scene would likely draw a wider range of appeal than others.  The colors are likely still vibrant because this was stored away and not exposed to much light.

Unlike many of his works, this print does not have a title, unless it was covered by the matting. I'm not going to mess with that in order to see as it was professionally framed and paper backing still intact with original sticker on the reverse. I woud guess this is an antique piece (c. 1920-1935) framed early mid-century (1935-1950).

Framing Company sticker:

PICWOOD GALLERIES 587 Third Avenue New York 16, N. Y.

Nicely framed in wood painted black with gold trim on the inner section of the frame.

Frame Measures Approx:  24cm x 19.5cm  (9-1/2" x 7-3/4")

Condition:

Natural darkening of both mat and print paper, still in very good condition for its age.
There are small areas of black paint wearing on the frame from storage that might be touched up, or reframed if desired.  The frame's inner gold trim seems completely unharmed.
