AIRFIX MAGAZINE GUIDE 25

MODELLING WORLD WAR 2 FIGHTERS

(BRYAN PHILPOTT)

The aim of this book is to show, through practical examples, some of the potential for improving and detailing Airfix fighter kits both old and new, and how alternative variants can be added to a collection through cross-kitting and converting.

Fighter aircraft of World War 2 is probably the most popular subject among plastic construction kit modellers the world over.  This book will show you how to improve your own modelling standards and thus build even more accurate and detailed models of famous fighters, including the Spitfire, BF109, Hurricane, Corsair, and Zero.  In addition, it provides alternative colour scheme ideas and several practical conversion examples to enable you to make individual models.

This 1977 edition hardback publication is in good / very good overall condition.  The pages are tightly bound and are free from tears, creases, and significant marks.  The printed hardboard covers display some minor rubbing and light knocks to the edges and corners (see photograph), together with fading (sunburn) to the spine, and a minor dull crease mark to the corner of the back cover.  The book runs to 64 pages (21.5cm x 14cm) and is well illustrated throughout.
