Antique 1852 Mettalic Tablet Razor Strop 4 Sideed Wood & Leather Strop with original slip case and label from 1852.

Approximate Dimensions:

Length: 12"

Width: 1-1/4"

Depth: 1-1/4"

PRINTED ON THE LABEL AND DECIPHERED TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY:

"Mettalic Tablet....Label Adopted 1852.....Entered According to Act of Congress in the year 1852.....The Tablet may be used by advantage once a week by laying the Razor flat as on a hone, and propelling the Razor from heel to point."

"G.Saunders"

"& RAZOR STROP By Geo. Saunders in the Clerks office of the District Court of NY.....No. 3 & 4 for general use finishing the next by pressing the Razor on the strop and drawn from point to heel.....When Nos. 2, 3, 4 are dry from use apply a little sperm oil"

The strop has obvious wear from being OVER 170 YEARS OLD, but the wood and case are both very sturdy and solid overall. The leather is somewhat dry but not too bad given its age!

Overall a great piece!!

Thank you for looking!
