These hinges would be great for renovating an old house that needs some nice matching hinges.
- The pictures are representative of the hinge condition
- This set of hinges have a large steeple tip
- These hinges are ready to go and swing for the next 100 years.
- Good old cast iron is stronger and harder than the new soft reproduction iron of today
- Likely cast in the last 1880's to the early 1900’s.
- These have a nice sharp, clean and fancy casting.
- The hinge leaves are matched to each other for the best possible fit. If you remove the pins be sure not to mix up the leaves when reassembling the hinge
- When I strip the tons of paint off the hinges, I make sure the pins are loose and removable.
- The pattern is also on the back of the hinge and shows when the door is closed.
- The hinges were cleaned and oiled to prevent rust
- I added a few drops of oil to the pins so they will be ready to use.
- They are ready for paint. Just wash with soap and water to remove the oil.
- The hinges are 5 3/4" long from steeple tip to steeple tip
- They are 3 1/2" wide.
