Includes 2 pp. advertisements and half title preliminaries; four black and white illustrations by Palmer; advertisements to rear with twelfth, tenth, and twentieth editions of Dickens' Christmas books; seven titles plus Portrait listed on final advertisements page. Bound in blue fine-diaper cloth; front and rear stamped in blind; gilt lettering to spine; yellow-white endpapers.
Recased with original spine laid down; loss to original spine at extremities. Scuffs and smudges to boards with patchy discoloration; slightly heavier soiling to rear; gilt lettering rubbed; brief exposure to edges. Binding sound. Previous owner's armorial bookplate (Burton) to front pastedown. Mild wrinkling to pages; brief marginal chipping in spots; pages else toned but unmarked. Still a Very Good copy.
