Large Mid 19c Coalport Porcelain Inkstand Wells & Miniature Taper Candlestick. This needs a big desk! It measures up at 15.75" wide! The base is absolutely perfect with no problems. Even the gilding only has only extremely minimal wear. The colour and nature of the body, and that of the hand painted decoration is classic Coalport. It really cannot be any other factory desire being (as is usual at this date) unmarked. It would date from around 1850 and the very minimal condition issues are as follows. One inkwell inner liner is missing the other is chipped and has the inevitable ink discolouration that the insides of both wells also share. There is no discolouration to the outsides of the wells which is great. There is a small chip to one inkwell lid and a minute chip to the rim of the chamber candlestick. A great item.
