- The Panther A is an improved model with approximately 2,200 cars produced by MAN, Daimler-Benz, MNH, and Demark after car No. 851 from September 1943 to July 1944.
- Although the body has not changed much from the D type, the turret is a new design, the cupola is a new model made by casting, and the sight for the main gun has been changed to a monocular TZF12a from the middle.
