Characteristics and remarks
The Schaffhausener watch factory was established in 1868 by the American engineer Florenca A. Jones. In 1875, though, he had to sell the company to the Swiss Johannes Rauschenbach, who rebuilt and enlarged the factory. Rauschenbachs heirs understood to get the company through the first decades of the 20th century. This company is known as one of the most renowned Swiss watch manufacturers and is part of the well-known and prestigious Richemont-group.
