This is a stunning, vintage Sheepskin Flying Jacket - by DOUGLAS.

Bought in the 1980's/around 40 years old.

*Good, used condition; please note that this is not in immaculate/perfect condition. It has had some professional restoration/repair work, and the brown sheepskin outer has a mottled/distressed finish to it, (with some marks present), specifically to the left cuff area. One of the eyelets is also missing from the hem strap. Please see pictures.*

Colour: Dark Brown, mottled in finished and crafted using genuine, 100% sheepskin.

UK Size (as inside label states): 38 inches, but please check against the measurements below, (to ensure fit), as all manufacturers differ with their sizes. 

Measurements (laid flat & measured outside of garment):
Armpit to armpit: 21.5 inches 
Total Length (from top of shoulder to hem - at front): 25 inches
Shoulder to shoulder (measured at the back): 19.5 inches
Armpit to cuff: 17.5 inches
Width of hem: 20.5 inches.

This is a rare, short-length, flying jacket, crafted using 100% premium quality sheepskin. All the quality you would expect from DOUGLAS.

- Additional, matching chunky, exposed zip is used to complete the chest pocket, located to the left side
- x2 open pockets are located diagonally, to each side; the left pocket was included in the professional repair, as there was a hole in it
- Spread collar; finished with contrasting beige shearling finish. This is very warm
- The wearer can choose which height to fasten the zip, as there is an additional area, (triangular-shaped panel), of matching sheepskin, located to the centre, inside the jacket
- The most eye-catching design feature to this flying jacket are the novelty embossed patches. These include an iconic 'TOP GUN' branded patch, (located underneath the chest pocket), as well as seven further patches, spread throughout the rest of the garment
- Shoulder straps, with popper detailing/fastening, are located to the shoulders
- Fully lined with beige coloured shearling, (matching the collar area)

Good, used vintage condition overall, (especially considering it is around 40 years old). All the quality you would expect from DOUGLASDOUGLAS were renowned for their excellent quality garments and this sheepskin flying jacket is a great example of that. Anyone who is familiar with this high-end British brand, will know just how good the quality is. Only selling as my Brother has too many leather/sheepskin jackets in his collection now. Naturally, it has survived over four decades, therefore, it is not in pristine condition, but being sold in good, used condition.
