Vintage Willets Tobin Fraley 'American Carousel' Fairground Horse, 3rd Ed, 9093
Willets produced a number of Tobin Fraley limited edition models during the late 1980's to early 1990's. Each one was modelled by Tobin Fraley, from an original antique wooden American Carousel Animal, mainly horses, and are finely detailed, hand painted and signed by the artist himself. Each model was produced in limited numbers, being fired during a short period of 21 days, therefore all are collectors pieces and difficult to find. Each individual model is numbered, so is unique, which is on a gold metal coin, set into the brass base. As American carousels travel in an anti-clockwise direction, unlike our own Merry-go-Round horses, their 'romance side', is on their right, facing out and is more highly decorated than the side facing towards the centre. This model 9093, is from his 3rd Edition, which was produced in 1989 and stands approx 7 inches high and 7 inches wide.. It is a skewbald (brown and white paint horse), jumping horse which has a brown saddle and blue cloth, edged in gold, and a pale green martingale edged in dark green. On the 'romance side' it is adorned with a native head, feathers and quiver.  This item is new, being unpacked only for these photo's, it is in its original box and packaging and is complete with its tag, card description and cerificate of authentication, all of which are in excellent condition.
It is from my own collection, which I am currently downsizing, therefore I do have other models listed. Please do look at all the photo's as they do form part of my description. Thank you for looking
