This is the 24th album in two years from NWOBHM heavyweight SAXON, following the previous album that became an anthem for metal fans!
SAXON, a leading band of N.W.O.B.H.M. that has been active for 45 years since 1978, has released their 24th new album in two years since their last album "Carpe Diem: Moment of Steel," which attracted a great deal of attention! The album is a condensed version of the ultimate SAXON sound, further developed from the aggressive and dramatic previous album with Biff Byford (vo), the face of the band, at the center!
Like the previous album, Andy Sneap (JUDAS PRIEST, etc.) was in charge of production along with Biff. The main difference between this album and the previous one is that Paul Quinn (g), who had supported SAXON for many years with Biff as an original member, announced his retirement from touring, and was replaced by Brian Tatler (g) of DIAMOND HEAD, a compatriot who lived in the same era. Brian also participated in the composition of the album, bringing some aggressive blood to the band! The other members are the ever-present Nigel Glockler (dr), Nibs Carter (b), and Doug Scarratt (g). The album's title song, which features Brian and is also featured in the music video, is a dramatic metal number filled with Biff's passionate thoughts on the battle between good and evil, but the title "Hell, Fire and Damnation" is actually a play on the phrase "Hell, Fire and Damnation," which comes from an old saying of Biff's father's, "Hell, Fire and Damnation". The title "Hell, Fire and Damnation" actually comes from an old saying of Biff's father, who used to say "What the hell are you doing? Hell, fire, and damnation! Whenever Biff was naughty as a child, his father would say, "You're going to hell, you're going to burn, you're going to ruin!
SAXON has already begun a massive world tour, and is scheduled to begin a three-way tour with JUDAS PRIEST and URIAH HEEP in March 2024, which will last until June! With a furious new album in tow, the champions will continue their energetic activities to take the world by storm!
The bonus track for the Japanese edition is a live version of "Predator" (originally from "Thunderbolt" (2018))!
