Our Damascus is authentic, not just an acid etch. It’s crafted from a blend of 1095HC and 15N20 nickel carbon. Through repeated heating, folding, and layering, we achieve an impressive 384 layers, showcasing the beauty of Damascus steel.
The process involves burning the blade in acid, giving the nickel a satin color and the high carbon a blackish-gray hue. This acid treatment exposes the distinct layers of the new steel, creating the classic “Damascus” look.
To reveal the layers fully, all Damascus undergoes acid etching. Polishing the metal results in a shiny satin finish, but the acid-burned sides of the blade unveil the mesmerizing patterns.
Once the knives are crafted, we meticulously high polish the handles and sharpen the blade edge. This process removes the acid-burned layer from the handle, leaving it pristine and smooth. The blade edge becomes satin, with a sharp cutting edge.
For safe storage and easy carrying, the knife comes with a top-quality cowhide leather sheath, as shown in the photos.
