Presented for auction is this Superb Rare Vintage Royal Copenhagen Large Bowl With Neoclassical Scene dated for 1954.
Produced by the Royal Copenhagen factory this superb large bowl is hexagonal shaped, it is finished with a fabulous printed and overpainted neoclassical scene of a winged cherub in a chariot being pulled by semi-naked maidens with heavy gold gilding, superb quality item/craftsmanship. It is marked with the Royal Copenhagen Denmark mark with a dot below the L in Royal which dates it to 1954 and the Blue 3 Waves mark with two scratch marks through it denoting I believe second quality, please see all the additional photos as they form part of the description.
Measuring 8 1/2" in diameter x 1 1/2" deep approx. it is in excellent used condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration, there is some light wear to the gold gilding and also to the central pattern, nothing too serious and consistent with age/use.
