A nice single franked cover from Pointe A Pitre, Guadeloupe to San Francisco, California. Franked with Guadeloupe Scott #129, the 1.75fr Harvor Scene stamp from 1933 tied to the cover by the Pointe A Pitre machine slogan cancel dated March 12, 1938. The flap has the printed name of "Compagnie Genérale Transatlantique" and a manuscript "Flandre" which was one of this company's ships. This may be a paquebot cover posted onboard the ship and entering the mails in Guadeloupe. The Flandre was reportedly sunk by a mine n 1940. This cover measures 145mm x 114mm.
