PCGS GRADING MS65

1946 France 50 Centimes Grade: MS-65 (Mint State 65) by PCGS Composition: Aluminum-Bronze Diameter: 27mm Weight: 6g

Obverse: Features the left-facing bust of Marianne, the allegorical figure of the French Republic. The legend "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE" arcs above, with the motto "LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE" below.

Reverse: Denomination of "50 CENTIMES" displayed boldly in the center with the date 1946 underneath. Surrounded by oak leaves and wheat stalks symbolizing peace and prosperity.

Condition: This 1946 50 Centimes has been certified and encapsulated by PCGS in choice Mint State 64 condition. Presenting exceptional full mint luster across both the obverse and reverse fields. The design elements are crisply struck with strong definition on Marianne's portrait and the reverse devices. Just a few trivial bagmarks and light friction limit this from an even higher gem grade. Overall fantastic eye appeal for the grade level.

PCGS Certification #: 48144182

The coin's MS-65 grade is clearly identified on the PCGS holder along with a unique certification number.

With a sizeable mintage of 33,470,000 pieces struck at the Paris mint after WWII, the 1946 is one of the more available 20th century French issues in circulated condition. However, locating premium uncirculated survivors like this PCGS MS-65 example is far more challenging. An important opportunity for collectors pursuing high-quality, certified French coins from this transitional post-war era.
