Post-1948 pressed eye, aluminum lipped, Arbogast Jitterbug Lure made in Akron, Ohio.  This early black Jitterbug is dated by the material incorporated into its design and the hook hangers on its' belly.  A plastic version was introduced in 1941 during the War, which also had a plastic lip and tin lure hangers. The change to plastic was due to the shortage of aluminum. Later lures were again produced with the aluminum lip.The most popular Jitterbug color was black. What made this lure special was the loud plop it made when it hit the water.  Primarily this lure was used for Bass fishing.
