DESCRIPTION:

Pair of very charming, folk art style American oil paintings of country scenes in the winter snow. One depicts a country home with a lake in the foreground and some trees and a hill in the background. It is signed Florence Smith and dated 1940 at the lower left. The other painting depicts a bright red barn next to a creek in a wooded area with a flaming red sunset in the background. This painting is also signed Florence Smith but has no date, but I suspect it was done in 1940 also.

The paintings are done on firm, thin art board with a black backing. The paintings measure about 4 5/8" wide by 7" tall.

The paintings are not framed and there are some little holes in the art board at the top center of each where they were tacked or nailed to a wall (I think the holes would mostly be hidden if the paintings were framed, but please see last picture). Otherwise, the paintings are in very good condition.
