QUALITY BEECH BENTWOOD STEAMER TRUNK IN LOVELY  CONDITION

This listing is for superb bentwood trunk consisting of the following , A nice size steamer trunk covered in a quality Tan

vinyl and thick leather cappings at each corner attached with steel  rivets. Four sets of beech bentwoods encircle the trunk and are fixed with steel cappings and  pins , The trunk is further strengthened with steel rivets applied in rows at both ends  .

The front of the trunk has two very nice large secure lever brass locks and a brass lift over lock . Large leather  strap handles are positioned at each end of the trunk secured with lovely polished steel cleets making it easy to lift  . Above the handle at one end is a metal makers plate for SMITH ENGLEFISLD and CO THE BAG AND TRUNK MAKERS NOTTINGHAM .

The back of the trunk has a full length leather strap hinge secured with a long row of steel rivets , further steel pins help strengthen the lid which has the name E R WICKENS printed by a previous owner and when opened it reveals a lovely size . covered   in its lovely original  quality plain  coloured  fabric  nice and  clean for its age and complete with its original tray with lift out handles and ready for all sorts of storage items .

Some times an original  piece of luggage in lovely condition arrives and this is certainly one of those pieces . This steamer trunk is a very nice example of its type and is becoming much harder to find  , a super item and an item that would make a lovely addition to any home .
