MICRO MACHINES Transforming Action Sets (Galoob) 1993

The Death Star MICRO MACHINES SPACE Transforming Action Sets by Galoob features a miniature replica of the iconic space station from Star Wars: A New Hope. The playset transforms from a hemisphere to an open battle station with various features, such as a tractor beam, gun station and removable secret panel. The playset also includes five Micro Machines figures of Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and R2-D2 and a Micro Machine X-Wing that attaches to the tractor beam.

The Death Star itself is one of the most iconic symbols of the Star Wars franchise, as it represents the power and evil of the Galactic Empire. The Death Star was a massive space station that could destroy entire planets with its superlaser weapon. It was first seen in Star Wars: A New Hope, where it was used to destroy Alderaan, the home planet of Princess Leia. The Death Star was also the site of the climactic battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire, where Luke Skywalker used the Force to fire a proton torpedo into a small exhaust port, causing a chain reaction that destroyed the station. The Death Star was later rebuilt by the Empire in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, but it was once again destroyed by the Rebels with the help of Han Solo and his team on Endor.

The Death Star playset was part of the Micro Machines Space line, which was launched by Galoob in 1993 to coincide with the re-release of the original Star Wars trilogy on VHS. The line consisted of various vehicles, playsets, and figures based on the Star Wars universe, and was popular among fans and collectors for its accuracy and detail plus the fact that it was among the first waves of new Star Wars toys to be released since the original Star Wars sets. These original 1993 and 1994 sets were later re-released in 1997 with different lighter color packaging.

Blister window is clear with warping on both sides and a compression crease on the right side
