Made by Henry Clifford Davis (originally located at Harford Works, Harford Street, Birmingham; subsequently Warstone Lane, Birmingham).  This large 925 Sterling Silver Sugar Shaker is fully hallmarked and stands 18cm tall with a width (at the widest part) of 6cm upon a base that measures 5cm square. the hallmark carries the makers mark,  the anchor mark for Birmingham Assay Office , the lion passant confirming the fineness of the metal and the date letter 'M' for the year 1961.

This piece is in very good condition,  only displaying general wear commensurate with use. The perforated lid can easily be removed to fill the body with sugar and the weight is 149.8g. A piece of history and a practical gift for someone appreciates great British craftsmanship.
