LARGE STERLING SILVER

SERVING OR TABLESPOON

JOHN & HENRY LIAS

 1839

This listing is for ONE Victorian

Sterling silver tablespoon in the

Old English design.

We bought two large sterling spoons,

a large sterling mustard pot and a

set of 6 EP teaspoons (see last  photos

of all together without mustard pot).

They are all engraved with the same coat of

arms or crests which looks like a quiver of

arrows slung off a burning tree trunk or

possibly a tower or turret- not sure.

We are listing the two serving spoons

separately because they are completely

different dates.

This one is fully hallmarked for:

London 1839

Makers stamp is rubbed but I

think it is:

I.L

H.L

Would love to know the story of how

Silver plate and sterling silver spoons

all ended up with the same crest,

I’m sure it’s fascinating but alas I

have no idea and couldn’t find this

coat of arms referenced anywhere.
