Pieter Schenk the Younger (1693 - 1775) was a Dutch engraver and map publisher.

The map depicts the recently 'colonised' Cape of Good Hope' by the Dutch in 1652. On the left is Devil's Peak, in the centre Table Mountain with Platteklip gorge; on the right is Lion's Head and rump. The fort guards the vegetable gardens planted to replenish the Dutch ships en route to the Far East.
