HEREND CORNUCOPIA TUPINI TCA 7 1/2" SALAD
OR DESSERT PLATE #1518 (UP TO 4 AVAILABLE)

Available for purchase is a beautiful salad or dessert plate made by the Herend Porcelain Manufactory located in Herend, Hungary (up to 4 plates available). The pattern is called "Cornucopia" or "Tupini Cornucopia" (TCA). The hand-painted design is an elegant combination of small flowers and cornucopia with elaborate gold decoration. The design is painted on the Rocaille shell-style blank. Only Herend's "master painters" are allowed to decorate pieces with the Cornucopia design.

Each plate measures just under 7 1/2" in diameter. The underside of each plate is marked with the Herend logo, form number 1518, and the pattern code "TCA". I purchased these plates at a recent estate sale, along with other pieces that I'm selling separately (please see my other listings).

The following is a description of the Cornucopia pattern from the Herend website: "One of the world's most intricate and elaborate examples of hand painting on porcelain, this luxurious pattern was created in the 1870s for the Shah of Persia. Its rich use of gold is layered over lush turquoise and pomegranate shades on a pure white field."

If you're not already familiar with Herend porcelain, the factory was founded in 1826 and began producing fine china tableware and decorative pieces in the mid-1800's. Herend porcelain quickly garnered great praise, and the company’s products were recognized for their excellence at the Vienna Exhibition of 1845, the Great Exhibition in London in 1851, the New York World Exhibition in 1853, and the Paris Exhibition of 1855. With such high acclaim, Herend porcelain was soon gracing the tables of Europe’s royal families and aristocracy. Herend fine porcelain is hand painted by highly-skilled craftsmen. Today, Herend is the biggest porcelain manufacturer in Europe.

Condition of this Herend Cornucopia salad plate is EXCELLENT with no chips, cracks, fleabites, or crazing. I don't see any utensil scratches, suggesting that the plate was used very little (if at all). It would make a fine addition to any Cornucopia table service. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. I'm confident you'll be very pleased with this purchase!

If you collect Herend porcelain, particularly the Cornucopia pattern, don't miss your opportunity to purchase this offering. My Buy It Now price of only $169 is a bargain. This plate retails for $855 from the manufacturer. So, buy this plate now before someone else beats you to the deal!

For international purchases, The buyer is responsible for all customs fees. The declared value listed on the customs form will be the final selling price of the item. I will not list the item as a "gift" to avoid customs charges.
