Author Biography

Jim Browning was born and raised in a rural community of northeast Alabama. He enlisted in the US Army soon after his eighteenth birthday and was accepted in the army's leadership school for future non-commissioned officers. He served as an Infantry platoon leader during the Korean conflict. As a casualty of war he spent six plus months in four Field hospitals, two hospital ships and one base hospital located at Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Upon release from the hospital he was assigned to the Japanese Logistical Command and further assigned as body guard for the Royal Family of Japan. He is personally acquainted with His Majesty Akihito 125th Emperor of Japan and served as his personal body guard during the winter Olympics of 1951. Later Jim was assigned to the First Guided Missile Brigade and worked out of the same office with Doctor Wernher Von Braun. Other military assignments included; Jim was placed on Temporary Duty (TDY) with Wilding Studios and was a member of the cast while filming "Double Duty American," Still later he was on TDY serving with the military during early testing of atomic weapons. He was one of the first fifty Americans to be within one mile (5,000 measured distance) of an atomic explosion and has been at ground zero within one hour. As a civilian Jim's entrepreneur spirit led him to incorporate five manufacturing companions. Jim has written one military technical Manuela, two quality control manuals, and one genealogical record for his family. He has written and published four novel; "A Lone Man", "Priscilla", "Breast-Feed Your Dreams" and The 3rd Platoon". Jim is married more than sixty years and has five sons and forty three grand and great-grand children.
