This is an original press photo. The effect of unsettled labor conditions on the Milwaukee water front is reflected in this picture of the municipal transit shed on Jones Island. The shed, leased by the P&V Atlas Maritime Corporation, is nearly empty this week because shippers have diverted cargos to other ports. Warehouse Supervisor Olaf Sather, of 6700 Dellrose Court, Greendale, surveyed the shed. The work contract of local 815 International Longshoremen's Association (AFL-CIO) with the P&V Corporation expired March 1. Negotiations are under way. Photo measures 10 x 8.5 inches. Photo is dated 04-13-1960.
