Victorinus, was a Roman usurper who seized power in the Gallic provinces during the Crisis of the Third Century, a period marked by political instability and frequent usurpations. He ruled as emperor from around 269 to 271 AD. Victorinus was known for his military prowess and successful campaigns against Germanic invaders. However, his reign was also characterized by intrigue and violence, including the assassination of his predecessor, Postumus. Despite his achievements, Victorinus faced challenges from rival claimants to the imperial throne and was ultimately assassinated, leading to further chaos in the Roman Empire.
