Ricardo Zamora is one of Spain's greatest goal keeper and certainly the greatest of his time. Some refer to him as the greatest goalie ever. He was also the captain of the Spanish squad in the 1920s.

He won the best goal-keeper award in the 1934 World Cup. 

The Ricardo Zamora Award provided to the best goal keeper of a season by Marca every year, was named after him.
