Zenit was a Soviet camera brand, whose SLRs were produced by the KMZ factories from 1952 in Krasnogorsk, a suburb of Moscow, and from the 1970s in Belarus. Over 40 models in the Zenit series were produced in the course of the brand's history. The latest model, the "Zenit-KM", came out in 2001. It featured an electronic shutter and a digital automatic exposure control system. In 2005, the brand ceased production of its cameras, renowned for their rugged robustness.
