Little Valley Aquaculture is a small fish farm located in Idaho, USA!
We raise, harvest, and process our Black Soldier Fly Larvae on site! Our grubs contains up to 50% of protein, are rich in fatty acids, and naturally high in calcium. Due to being high in calcium, there is no need for dusting!

- Large larvae have the tendency to pre-pupate (turning black) this is normal. We hand pick our orders to ensure they are all whites. Due to the summer time temperatures this will increase the chance of pupation. If your larvae do pupate, don't throw them away! They can hatch into flies and this could add an enrichment for your pet to catch them! Don't worry, they're non-invasive and non-vector species. They don't sting or bite and could only live for up to 5-10 days. - Your black soldier fly larvae will arrive in a small plastic cup, with an option of bedding. Simply keep them in this container at room temperature, or better yet, in a wine cooler or beverage chiller. Refrigerators are too cold for BSFL, and may end up killing them. There is no need to feed or gut-load your BSFL.
Our story: Due to rising costs of fish meal, we wanted an alternative protein to feed our fish. That's when we found BSFL. High in protein, calcium, and rich in fatty acids with a great amino acid profile, this helped not only the growth of our fish, but helped reduced our costs of commercial feed.
Our BSFL are happily fed a post-consumer diet which helps eliminate food waste and in turn creates nutrient-rich soil!
* Our larvae are eco-friendly and are fed post-consumer waste, which may contain allergens.
