The music format was once again jointly developed by the two companies that developed the CD, Sony and Philips (Netherlands).

Commemorating the 50 year anniversary of The Piano Man. SACD 4ch & 2ch hybrid version is finally available!
"Piano Man," a work that defined Billy Joel as Piano Man, as well as an important career in 1973 that established the term piano singer-songwriter-piano man. To celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the release, the quadraphonic LP version, which has not been released in Japan, will be released on SACD for the first time in the world! The SACD layer 4ch is a high-quality surround sound mix of quadra LP analog 4ch mix master sound source mastered by DSD for the first time at Sony Music Studio in Japan. The SACD layer 2ch is a high-quality stereo mix that is a newly DSD-mastered analog 2ch mix master tone generator, and the CD layer is a newly mastered tone generator that converts the SACD DSD master to PCM. In addition, DISC 2 (high-quality Blu-spec CD 2) contains many unreleased demos and rare live music from the Piano Man era, including the world's first seven songs on CD. The DISC 3 DVD contains valuable live/MV footage, including the world's first 8 songs released on DVD.
